Speaker for Jan 12th, 2023 – Supervisor of Elections Tommy Doyle
Tommy Doyle is a lifelong resident of Lee County with a deep-rooted passion for the county’s history and traditions. His fundamental belief in our representative form of government led him to run for office. He was elected Supervisor of Elections in November 2016 and took office in January 2017.
His desire to strengthen the values of outstanding customer service to the citizens of Lee County and emphasize fiduciary responsibility in election budget management has brought forth innovation and excellence in the day-to-day operations of the Lee County Elections Office.
He has made it a top priority to safeguard the security of the office’s network databases, computer systems, and elections. By ensuring an ongoing commitment to coordinating enhanced systems security practices, the office reinforces its dedication to secure elections and the voters of Lee County.
Since being elected, he has provided for the restructuring of all Elections Office departments, thereby elevating or creating additional levels of services provided to the citizens of Lee County.
Tommy is a graduate of Bishop Verot High School. He is a United States Air Force veteran and spent four years in Tampa where he worked for the Joint Command as an Airborne Radio Operator at MacDill Airforce Base. He later attended the University of West Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting.
Tommy actively supports the community as a member of the Fort Myers Rotary Club and serves annually on an Allocations Board for United Way of Lee County. In early 2018, through Tommy’s positive leadership, the Lee County Elections Office chose to partner with Valerie’s House, a non-profit organization based in Fort Myers, Florida. Valerie’s House programs are designed to give children and families of Southwest Florida a safe place to share, grieve, grow and connect with one another, and learn the tools to heal after they have experienced the death of someone they love.
Tommy and his wife, Donna, have been married since 1987. They have three children, Ryan, Taylor, and Lauren, and, in 2017, were blessed with their first grandchild.
