A self-described “strict constitutionalist” Mr. Haskins’ top five policy goals are to:
- Increase the size of the House of Representatives, theoretically forcing representatives to be more accountable to their constituents;
- Support the doctrine of non-delegation which asserts that the lawmaking branch of government (congress) cannot delegate its legislative authority to independent agencies;
- Repeal the 17th Amendment which shifted the election of U.S. Senators from state legislatures to a direct popular vote;
- Repeal the 16th Amendment which permitted a federal income tax;
- Return to the gold standard.
